Our Crisis Hotline is available for anyone including individuals with ID/DD find themselves in immediate need for our services. The Crisis Hotline is available 24 hours, seven days a week. When utilizing the Crisis Hotline, callers are placed in contact with a professional immediately who will provide crisis services by phone or by an emergency appointment in one of our outpatient offices during office hours. After hours, callers are put connected with a professional who will provide crisis services and arrange for face-to-face consultation.  Callers are also advised to call 911 in case of any emergency.

Mobile Crisis Team

Comprehend provides onsite, mobile assessment to individuals twenty-four hours a day, seven days per week. Mobile Crisis Response addresses acute crisis situations and identifies services and alternatives that will aid in crisis stabilization. This service is provided in the community setting. The Mobile Crisis Team’s goal is to limit involuntary developmental disabilities or intellectual disabilities (202B) and mental health (202A) hospitalizations by utilizing community resources, to reduce psychiatric hospital admissions, and to orchestrate wrap around services with a full array of community support services to help in eliminating a person’s crisis.

Child Crisis Stabilization Unit

Comprehend’s Children’s Crisis Stabilization Unit is for children & adolescents who do not require intensive clinical treatment in an inpatient psychiatric setting and would benefit from a short-term structured stabilization setting. Services to children and adolescents at this level of care include therapy, initial and ongoing assessment, case management, medication management and mobilization of family support and community resources. The average length of stay is four to six days.
